@Desert Lily Congratulations on all your new stuff.  What brand of smart watch did you purchase?  I've been on the fence about getting one.

The learning curve can be so frustrating at times.  I just purchased a new car Dec 26 and I'm overwhelmed.  I think I just have to sit in it and watch videos to adjust to all the new tech...........my 2007 vehicle didn't have any tech at all........unless you count a radio or CD player.

There is a reason alot of us overpay for cable.

Either way very impressed the way you are handling the situation.  It will all come together soon.

Love a fitbit watch but don't want a computer on my wrist so still looking for new options as Google is phasing out fitbits.

@hopi That's news to me.  I have a Fitbit and it is connected to my Android phone, so I know when calls come in and get text messages, as long as the phone is close enough.  I don't carry my phone with me everywhere, so it comes in handy.

Where can I get information about this change?  Are they just gonna turn our watches off one day?

Google won't be making the fitbit brand watch anymore. They will just changeit  to Pixel brand watch.

It did not say anything about turning off watches.

That is all I know about it.

@hopi Thanks.  I did a search on it and Google is denying this; however, it is not clear what they plan to do.  It may be that certain Fitbit models go away, which they also deny, or that newer versions will have fewer functions, as has been happening apparently.  I don't use the ones they've deleted from the newer models, like music.  I'll conitnue to wear my Sense until it stops working and then figure out what I'll do.  I'm on my 2nd Sense and lately it has had some charging issues.  I hope that's not a harbinger of death.  I've only had it a couple of years.

@Icegoddess

Google keeps asking me to transfer my Fitbit account  to Google.

Fitbit phased out watches as they produced new ones.

Overtime our watches will be phased out.

My issue is not with Google changing the name but putting to much on a tracker. Don't want that much information on my wrist.  I do love the Find phone feature but the Starbucks, Alex, Spotify Wallet etc. is way to much already.  Just want correct and consistent fitness facts.  My favorite is the Charge 2 it's an older model but only 2 years old.  Which one do you own?

@hopi The article I read did say something about transferring your account.  I may have already done that, can't remember.  I haven't been asked to lately.  No biggie since Google owns Fitbit.  It said that Google claim they are not phasing out Sense and one other model, but we'll see I guess.

I don't need a lot of extras.  As I said, I do like the connectivity to my phone, but it's limited.  DH has an Apple Watch and he can do much more with his.  Other than that, I have no interest in any of the things you mentioned.  I don't think I even have anything in my Wallet on my phone, certainly not any CC info.  Besides what I mentioned above, I'm only interested in the health info.  I particularly like the heart rate info.

I have a Sense.

Hi @Melzie  I am not trying to in any way suggest you change what you are doing, but I thought I may share information you may not be aware of.  I have always had cable TV but keep a portable TV for emergencies since 9/11.  They have antennas.  When I first took one out, I think when we had that big blackout in the Northeast not long after 9/11, I could only get a couple of good channels.  I used my portable TV in 2012 too, when we lost electrical power for about a week due to superstorm sandy, and I don't think I had that many choices then either, but I didn't watch much TV then to preserve battery.  More recently, I bought a new $30 antenna and connected it to a portable TV last year and I had dozens of channels with great reception.  With digital transmissions, which is what over the air broadcasts are since 2009, broadcasters are upgrading and now get a lot better signals.  So you probably have better antenna reception than you have experienced in the past

I wasn't aware that the apple watch helps with falls.  Thanks @Marsha2003, good info.

I'm in my 70's and me and electronics do not get along. They drive me crazy, but I have no choice but to live with the changes and keep learning on a continual basis.

I got rid of my land line several years ago, can't afford cable, so bought a new TV and learned how to do streaming. It can be frustrating at times, but it is what it is. I just go with the flow the best that I can.

I promise to remind myself every day that I am strong, courageous, and resilient.
