Why the drama @occasionalrain posters asked to keep it open and they listened. Now everyone has a choice they can go to the new board, or stay here. or both.

My only suggestion is to allow us to have debates, and conversations without poofing. As long as there is no cursing, threats, or bullying let us have the conversation. Stop with the censorship.

@manny2

Some things don't need to be a shopping website.  They don't want to be associated with permitting controversial topics in their space.  They have this right.  It's their space.  If you're a shareholder you can certainly broach the subject but if you're not ~ why dictate what a business should do if does not benefit them?

You can now go to proboards and talk all the controversial stuff you want.  Why not just be greatful you have options and stop expecting this company to cater to your social needs?

@gertrudeclosetWhy don't you spend a little more time reading the post and less time with a response. First of all who said "controversial"? Oh you did. Who said I want to "dictate their business"? Oh you did. Who said I want to go to any board to talk about "controversial stuff"? Oh you did. Who asked QVC to cater to my social needs? Oh you did.

@manny2 The mods say it all the time.  That's why the posts go poof. Seriously.....where have you been?

The Q does not owe you a space to chatter about things not in their best interest.  Get over it.  It's their site.  That's what they poof: stuff THEY deem to be controversial.  Might not be to YOU, but it is for them.  I read ok, and you've got a privilege problem.

Well, without customers shareholders wouldn't get much of a return on their investment. Retaining customer's good will by making them feel valued, their expectations met seems something that should matter to the Q and their shareholders, some of which may be BB posters.

Hold up!  Many people stated candidly that they didn't purchase from here.  Many.  Finally, this forum is a mere drop in the bucket of the sales this company does.

Regardless of who's decision it was, it's still a shame the mods weren't allowed or chose not to post on these forums instead of annoucing the closure as it was done.

@Sushismom   I agree. I only learned about the shut-down because posters were starting threads.  My  bookmark goes right to this forum so I do not always see announcements.

I only caught the update because I was browsing programming.

So does my bookmark. Never saw the announcement at all until I went to login. It then takes me to that page. But, then, I don't always log in. Sometimes I don't for several days.

I'm disheartened to read that fellow posters, after being unceremoniously dumped, are not only willing to return, but are grateful to be taken back.

Some of our most caring fellow posters gave their time and expertise to provide us with a forum that is not overly monitored, restrictive, and arbitrary.

@occasionalrain   Everyone has her own comfort zone.

Many posters wanted to make sure that their friendships would continue.

Not everyone emails each other.

This place is "home" to some and that is fine. Some like the companionship for a variety of reasons.

If a person is happy that the Q will remain open for forums, there is no harm to anyone at all.

I'm on both right now; and planned on staying here until the last light went out.

I would truly miss some who decided not to join "over there" and I'm happy we can continue to chat.

I appreciate all that was done to make a new "home" for us and it is not my place to be disappointed in anyone else.

There is no disloyalty in feeling good about this place not closing and there is no disloyalty if some decide "over there" is not for them

All  of us who were told by a statement that the forums were closing on 11/2 instead of a mod actually POSTING the info on these forums:

@Sushismom   And people are griping about that?   They must have too much time on their hands to gripe about something that insignificant.  Wow!

@occasionalrain    There are no posters, none, who gave us this forum.  QVC put up the forum, not the posters here.

You missed the point. I was referring to the Proboard forum that our fellow posters established for us.
