He was 96.   Such a great singer.  Are there any other singers from his era left?  R.I.P.

Connie Francis is still alive & kicking. She posts to FB often.

Johnny Mathis is still touring.

May he rest in peace. He gave so much love and enjoyment to so many, always current and relevant.

My daughter and I saw him twice at the Hollywood bowl, once with Lady Gaga. Pure delight.

Re: Tony Bennett has died

[ Edited ]

Tony did lots of duets.  I remember seeing a lot of CDs with Tony and X or Tony and Y or Tony and...you get the idea.  He was quite popular into his senior years.

Tony Bennett, the Grammy Award-winning singer and interpreter of the American songbook who has died at age 96, was a passionate supporter of the civil rights movement who joined the 1965 Selma to Montgomery March with Harry Belafonte and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

When Joanna Loved Me, my favorite Tony Bennett song, no one sang it better.  He has left his mark in the music world, a legend who entertained us for decades with a voice so unique, always filled with feelings when he sang.  Rest in peace, Tony, be with God.

Is it odd that the first person I thought of when I heard this was Lady Gaga?

@snipsnapsnur,

I did too. I think their duets and friendship were beautiful to see these past few years.
