Re: Tonight 11/17/21 and me

[ Edited ]

Lovely photos.  Is November 17 a special day for you?  It is for me.

Two very dear friends of mine were born on November 17.  Both lived to a ripe old age (she to 92, he to 84), but I thought of them quite a bit today.  I even had a "sign" from him today.    Believe me, it was unmistakable.  He was an old love who was in my life before my beloved and perfect Mr. Golding.

The other day I wrote about kind people.  She was another person who gladly (and without cost to me) drove me to and from my job when I lived in Miami.  Did I finally learn to drive?  Yes, there in Miami.  On the weekends during the summer, when I had to wait for a public bus to take me to a mall, I reached my limit of frustration and overcame my fear of driving.  You absolutely must be able to drive while living in Miami or you will go bonkers.  I thank my time there for the gift of the nudge.

I'll never forget my driving instructor, Mr. Peoples (that was his name).  When he showed up at my office for my first lesson and had me drive home in Miami traffic, I was stunned.  Of course he had a steering wheel and controls on his side.  What a brave soul he was.  We made it to my apartment safely and with no incidents.

Life has so many mysteries, especially when those who have passed somehow decide to send a reminder.

ETA:  Obviously, I responded to your different presentation today -- one that included you.  Because this date is special, I took it as another "sign" that the day had a mark of uniqueness upon it.  Thank you for appearing.

How odd!  Well, I guess that was a sign from my female very good friend born on this day.  You had no idea that your innocent header with today's date would mean so much to me, but there it is.

I hadn't "heard" from her until your post tonight.  LOL

How I'd love to divulge all the background and what was my sign early today from the "he" born on this day, but it is too personal.  Really, I've never had a sign from him before.  Today is the first.  Or from her, for that matter.

He would have turned 90 today.  Guess he figures I won't make it for him to send me a sign on his 100th, so he got into action today.  (I can laugh at myself with my thoughts, but I half-way believe all of them.)

What beautiful photos, thanks for sharing.  We here in Chicagoland don't usually see anything as lovely.
