@lynnie61   Thank you very much. It sounds like your are very

talented and crafty, yourself; making rugs, blankets, purses, and scarves.

A little spinning wheel must have been fun. I would have loved something like that.

@Enufstuff

I look forward to seeing all the new fabrics that you will be using.

It seems as if Taffeta has not been in fashion for decades. I wonder why?

As a child I always loved the swish sounds it made...lol

@Flatbush   Taffeta is one of the many lovely fabrics that privately owned fabric stores once carried.

Joanne's is the only fabric store around here now and does'nt carry all the once available beautiful and high quality fabrics.

The only place I have seen taffeta in recent years is Macy's.

It is usually the fabric that is used for long full skirts for the holidays, for adults.

It seems that most women's and girls' clothing now, is made with cheaper synthetic fabrics.

That is why I try to find vintage fabrics made with real natural fibers, when creating the 1950's style dresses.

I buy vintage aprons from the 1950's and 60's, for the cotton organdy fabric to make doll's dresses. Vintage fabrics can sometimes be found on Etsy.

@haddon9   Thank you very much.  Ginny was my all time favorite doll, so cute. I had two, with dark hair like mine.

As an adult, I have collected more Ginny's. I still have all her clothes and furniture from when I was 7-9 years old.

My dear mother actually removed everything from two shelves

of her linen closet, so I could have a Ginny doll house.

  She loved dolls too.

@EastCoastGal   Thank you very much. When I found that Toni,

it looked like her long hair had been cut off. There was not much that I could do with it, as far as styling.

I've seen several Toni dolls online for sale, with cut off hair.

I think that little girls got the doll's hair in such a tangled mess, that the only solution was to cut it.

I loved dolls growing up, my favorites were Kissy and the 36inch walking doll I had. I think my Mom dressed her in my clothes and brought her to school as a my birthday present when I was 6. I wish I knew who I gave her to

So about giving dolls haircuts, I did that all the time thinking their hair would grow back like mine did
