Here is Toni with her basket of apples. Every Fall, Toni and her family go apple picking at a nearby orchard.
Sometimes there are tractor rides or hayrides for the children, through the orchard.
At this orchard, they sell apple cider and one of Toni's favorite things, apple cider donuts.
Toni will help her mother to make apple crisp
and an apple pie, with the apples that they picked. They always have fun baking together.
Toni is wearing a cotton dress with an apple print on the top of the dress and on the sleeve cuffs. Below the Peter Pan collar is a little apple button and the skirt is trimmed with white ric rac.

Oh my! I love her so much! Beautiful glowing red dress and all!
My mother would make many things like apple crisp, berry crisp etc and each time she would say she didn't remember how she made it but each time she would make it again from her distant memories and every time it was so so good!

She looks beautiful in her apple picking outfit! She could be a great help reaching those that are just a tad out reach for me!

@on the bay Thank you so much.
When I was ten years old, my aunt gave me
Betty Crocker's Cook Book for Boys and Girls.
I still have that little cook book and use the Apple
Crisp recipe from it. It is so good and has been a family favorite since the 60s. The topping is more like a crumbly sugar cookie. I don't like the oatmeal toppings that are in many recipes.
It is much easier to make than a pie. You only need a few apples. I would be happy to post the recipe, if you would like it.

I don't really like to bake anymore though I used to a lot! Yours sounds good but my mothers had the oatmeal and I love that the best! I will gladly eat anyone elses baking though!![]()

Love Toni's pretty dress!
I would love your apple crisp recipe @Enufstuff .
This time of year always brings back good memories as I grew up in beautiful western New York. Upstate New York has the best apples. Glad you mentioned yummy apple cider donuts - they are good. And nothing beats old-fashioned made apple cider.

@cimeranrose Thank you so much.
I grew up and still live in Massachusetts. There are many orchards here and in New Hampshire, where I took my five children to pick apples, when they were young.
Now, I just buy my apples at a local farm stand.
I will post my Apple Crisp recipe, under the title, "Toni's
Favorite Apple Crisp".

Toni needs some PANTS before shimmying up an apple tree. She'd create a sensation in the orchar# in that short skirt.
Her dress is so pretty but maybe better suited for apple eating.

@Kachina624 Toni is a little lady and doesn't climb trees.
She understands the "hazards".
These apple trees are small, with a lot of low
branches.
