@Enufstuff  I'm thinking good thoughts for your lovely Katie cat. She's in good hands with you and the veterinarians that will give her a check up today.  All the best to you and Katie today and I'm here for you, Donna! Heart

@Enufstuff

I just saw your post about your concern for Katie.

Please let us know how she is.

I've had many cats in my 73 years....often multiples at a time...and, when I lost the last one, I said no to more kitties.

Still love them, but from afar.

Hoping your sweetie is all right.

@SportyShorty07 @Witchy Woman   Thank you both for your concern about my Katie.  They did take an x-ray and they said that it is non-conclusive and that they can't really see an obstruction.  They wanted to do blood work and all kinds of tests, totalling $1200. 00.

 Apparently, an X-ray does not really show a stuck furball, but they want to follow up tomorrow with another X-ray.

Poor baby, can't have any food, only liquids, tonight and in the morning. She did lick up tuna juice tonight and I'll give her more in the morning.

  They said that they may want to have her go to another hospital 45 minutes away for an ultrasound.

 All her symptoms seem to be a furball that is stuck and these tests are showing nothing. They are not offering any remedies for that. She is not acting sick or distressed. We will see what happens tomorrow.

@Enufstuff  Thank you for the update on your little Katie cat, Enuffstuff.  I'm glad that they gave her an x-ray and I hope that you find out more answers at her ultrasound appointment.  Its good that she had a little tuna juice today. Keep monitoring her symptoms and comforting her- she's in good hands with you as her cat mom Heart. I'm thinking good thoughts for your Katie cat- she's a tough little cat and I think she'll get through this.

@SportyShorty07 @Witchy Woman   Yesterday, we went back to the PetMedic clinic and Katie had another x-ray. After two doctors looked at it, they recommended that we take her to another hospital forty minutes away, for an ultra sound. The best animal specialists are at that hospital.

 Those doctors did see some potential problems with her kidneys and they did blood work, urinalysis,checked her heart and gave her IV fluids.

 They sent us home with an antibiotic and I'm now waiting for

the vet to call with test results.

 Katie is eating small amounts of food, but is acting leary of us, since what she has been through the past two days. Going to the vet's is so traumatic for her  Smiley Sad

 Yesterday, we left the house at 11:30 a.m. and got home at 6:30p.m. It was a long day and Katie had not eaten since the morning of the day before. She did have a couple of small dishes of tuna last night. She also ate a few Greenies.

  We still don't know exactly what is wrong and at this point, I have paid over $3,000.00.

 We are just hoping that she will be okay.

@Enufstuff  Thank you for the update, Enuffstuff. Wow, what a day for you and your Katie! I'm so sorry that you're both going through this stressful situation- you're doing everything that you can for her and you're taking her to the best of the best vets. I'm glad that they did another x-ray, ran more tests and gave her IV fluids. Now its just a waiting game for her results so taht you know how to remedy her symptoms.

    Its a good sign that she ate some tuna- that means she's hungry and can eat some food which is good Smiley Happy.  I bet she's stressed and worn out from all of the visits these past few days. I'm tihnking good thoughts for Katie and I hope for good news when you get her results.  Keep us posted and take time to relax after such a stressful few days. Heart

@Enufstuff

Hearing about your ordeal with Katie broke my heart.

Having been through similar events, I know how gut-wrenching it can be for you AND kitty.

You are doing all you can, so I'm hoping something is revealed that you can treat.

@Witchy Woman@SportyShorty07   Thank you very much. We hate to see our furbabies sick or in distress. They can't tell us what is wrong.

Katie has been eating small meals and seems to be a little better.

I'm hiding her antibiotic in a little tuna with a chopped up sardine.  I hope that she will eat it again tonight.

 They absolutely hate having medication administered. I went through that with her sister six years ago and she ended up hiding from me and hating me. Sadly, she only lived 2 1/2 years due to congestive heart failure.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the vet about a urinalysis culture. Her blood work shows a renal problem and recommended a special diet food for her.

 After I get the results of all tests I'll schedule a follow up visit with our primary vet.

@Enufstuff  How are you Enuffstuff Smiley Happy? I'm sorry for my late reply, I didn't get a notification on QVC about your recent post- thank you very much for the update about your Katie Cat. I'm glad that she's eating a little more and that's very clever of you to put her antibiotics in the tuna and sardines that she likes. You really are a loving caretaker to your pets and I'm sorry to hear of Katie's sister's passing from heart failure- I'm sure you gave her the best years of her life. I'm hoping good thoughts for her lab results for the urinalysis and I hope that she can have great health from now on Smiley Happy. Keep us posted and I hope that you have a great Sunday! Smiley Happy

@SportyShorty07 @Witchy Woman

  For the past two days, Katie seems to be back to her "Frisky"

self. She seems to be feeling better, is eating and drinking normally and is playful.

 Yesterday, the vet called and all her test are negative, no kidney infection. But she does have elevated numbers for kidneys, which indicate  the start of kidney disease.

For now, all we can do is give her special diet food and that should help. She needs lower phosphorus, so that means  no tuna or sardines. Chicken is good for her and she loves it. I cooked some for her last night and she licked it all up and enjoyed the broth too.
