Re: Tomorrow Is The First Day of Winter!

Tonight DH and I attend an Enchanted Evening @ a beautiful and large botanical garden, including a 500 yr. old oak, a lake w/wild swans (last year one swam so close to us we could almost touch it-magical), special lights, holiday decorated trails-it's just so special.

We specifically joined the gardens in Sept. to be able to celebrate the Winter Solstice and share some quality time/memories with each other.

I would love to be able to make this an annual event for us.

It is reasonably priced so families participate.

Re: Tomorrow Is The First Day of Winter!

Our weather is in some ways "reversed" between summer and winter compared to most places. Our summers are often overcast, foggy and in the 60s if we're lucky and our winters are much sunnier and no colder in the daytime, though we've been down to freezing at night for 10 days. It's warming now.

Re: Tomorrow Is The First Day of Winter!

Yay!  Smiley Happy  I love winter and look forward to the 21st every year.

In the last few years I've seen it changed to the 20th or the 22nd by some.  I don't know what that is about, as I always knew the season changes to be on the 21st (Mar/Spring, Jun/Summer, Sep/Autumn, Dec/Winter).

At least it's been cooler lately (lows in teens, highs in 20s to 30s), so I've enjoyed that, but not much snow yt.  Smiley Sad   Too cold for snow right now, but hopefully soon.

Re: Tomorrow Is The First Day of Winter!

My electric bill came yesterday; $300, so if this is an indication of the WV winter ahead, it's not looking good!
