Re: Tom Brady and his wife Giselle have both hired divorce attorneys

As far as I'm concerned, he broke a promise to his wife in order to play a silly game. He seems to be 50% athlete and 50% ego.

I'm not surprised whatsoever.

I sure hope he isn't fooling around with someone else...but he is 45 and living in Florida 6 months away from his family...Gisele would never know. He has been making a big deal about how "it's all about family" lately. If it is, now is the time to step up and show you mean it.

He does not live away from his family. After he signed with the Bucks, they purchased a $17 million home on Indian Creek Island in Miami, nicknamed “Billionaires Bunker.”

Apparently he didn't even discuss with her coming out of retirement to play again; she learned of it when everyone else did. He had agreed to retire and spend more time with her and the children, but apparently the adoration from fans means more to him. She has had to shoulder the load while he is out playing a game he needs to step away from.  He isn't even playing that well now anyway.

If this is true @Trailrun23  then the marriage was in trouble, and this was just the last straw. There was no communication between them if she found out with the rest of the world.

The marriage would have failed either way, so maybe he thought at least I’m happy when I play. Who knows.

Re: Tom Brady and his wife Giselle have both hired divorce attorneys

Page Six is the only place I could find that is reporting this. I will believe it when the couple releases a statement. I have also read that they are trying to work it out and that it wasn't related to his decision to keep playing. Who knows, I don't put stock in gossip and click bait. Only the two of them know the truth, obviously.

By the way they never lived apart for six months out of the year, they lived together in New England and in Tampa. They have reportedly been living apart for a few months because of marital problems.

Re: Tom Brady and his wife Giselle have both hired divorce attorneys

@Trailrun23  For all those disparaging Tom, none of us know the "real" story.  We don't.  Football has been his life, and she knew what she was signing up for when she married him.  We don't know what motivated him to come out of retirement.  Ego?  Sure, but he's also at the top of his sport.  His wife is an elite super model.  She actually makes more than him.  Did she stop modeling?  I'm not sticking up for Tom, but his kids grew up with the "football" life.  Giselle has been a "football wife".  I've known a few men at the top of their game who just didn't want to retire.  They were savaged for it.  Yes they could afford it.  They were ripped for not caring about their family, when in fact nothing could be further from the truth.  They just were not ready to give up the work.  It didn't mean more to them, but it was something they enjoyed.  To some men, retirement is death.  Since we don't know the whole truth behind their life I will wait until it comes out.  Just because one magazine, news story etc says such and such, what happens between a couple is between them.

Sure he has all the money in the world to kick back and enjoy life.  And all of us sitting here think he's nuts not to do just that.  But these top athletes live in a different mindset.  They hang it up, to them that's it.  Some can adjust but others it's just depression and feeling life has no meaning.  Again, I know everyone will pile on me and say "but his family"  and again his family has lived the football life.  We don't know what life is like off season for them, again we don't.  I'll wait for more information.  They both have super egos, they are both at the top of their professions.  And there is two sides to every story. Right, wrong, good, bad or indifferent.

11 days of retirement clearly is not sufficient.  Cannot say as I blame her.  I stayed up past my bedtime the other night to see Tom have his bottom kicked by our own Patrick.  Cowboys fan first but this is Patrick's home so KC is a team close to our hearts here in this part of Texas.

Tom needs to get a reality check.  you mean to tell me that the football is more impotant than his wife and children.  I do not blame her for wanting a divorce.  Very sad for the children.

Once again, money can't buy happiness. They can go on with their lives, they are both rich and attractive. The ones that are hurt are the children.
