No i would not set a baby up on a ledge,of a open window!! What i find astounding they sue the cruise line.

If he accepts, the parents won't have a case against the cruise line. I don't believe the cruise line is liable anyway.

@depglass We may have but if our mistake harmed another be it our child or a stranger then we should accept responsibility and whatever punishment required. Trying to shift blame and make money on it is shameful.

Here's the deal, if they never decided to sue, the court of public opinion would be much gentler on this man. SInce they're going for it, they look like disgusting people taking a very bad situation and making a mockery of it. They made their bed now lie in it.

This is a family tragedy. A crime was committed. The person the law finds responsible is charged. I feel the sentence is fair.

@depglass I think everyone is profoundly sorry for the little girl, her grandfather & the family...it's tragic. However it's hard to blame Royal Caribbean for his actions even though he didn't mean to harm her. Yes he screwed up and there are times when most of us do stupid things however most adults weigh the potential consequences of our actions before following through.

The mother had watched him do this before, and she was OK with it, from what I have read
I don't feel it was deliberately done, but stupidity is no excuse for the loss of a helpless child. .. I think he should have manned up from the get go, instead of trying to blame the cruise line
I wouldn't be surprised if they stuck to their guns, and continue the suit

Why in the heck would you let ANY CHILD bang on a window? Like it or not, they should not be doing it. He was negligent in letting her bang on the window. That the window was open is just his dumb luck. I could never as the Mother forgive him. He killed a baby....😡guilty as charged👎

I know I feel that way...so I am sure there are others who feel the same.
