HERTZ CAR RENTAL EMPLOYEES FIND TODDLER LEFT IN RETURNED VEHICLE FOR 45 MINUTES

Employees at a car rental lot at Daytona Beach International Airport discovered a toddler who was left in the back seat of a returned vehicle for about 45 minutes Monday evening. The child was scared and hot, but thankfully in good health when checked by paramedics.

According to officials, the vehicle had been returned approximately 45 minutes earlier, at 5:13 p.m.

The child, just under the age of 2, was scared and hot, but otherwise in good health when checked by paramedics.

@BoopOMatic  That poor baby! And I'm betting the so-called "parent" has flown off. Whoever left that child in the car should be charged with child endangerment.

And I'm really sick of adults making excuses for this. Really sick of it. Yeah, this really steams me.

@Love my grandkids   Read the link.  It was grandpa who did it.  He's now off the family babysitting roster.

I don't understand how someone can leave a child in a car, and not realize it within 60 seconds. I' m being generous with the 60 seconds.

If you get in the car with your child, how can you leave a rental car, without your child. It does not make any logical sense to me at all.

Part of the reason is the addiction to cell phones. I see parents glued to their phones totally oblivious to their children.

I didn't read the link @Kachina624  He better be off babysitting detail. It still defies logic to me.

Absolutely NO excuse for leaving that poor baby in that car !  We all have things on our mind everyday, get this done and that done, go here and there do this and that but there has to be some accountability for leaving a innocent child in a car and just walk away. I haven't read the article as to if they found the perpertrater and the excuse but I just don't think there is a good excuse. JMO

He is 62 years old. Hardly old and feeble. What is wrong with people. Once on his way to where ever he was going didn't he realize he was missing something? I guess not!

No Christmas present for Grandpa this year.  Thank heavens it was just 45 minutes.  It's scary to think what could have happened.

@Kachina624 Fine. And he should be charged with child endangerment. I don't care how old he is, charge him.
