Today's rant (I know, we've discussed it before)- PERFUME!

And the overuse of it. This thread probably won't go well, but here we go....

What is it with some people and their overuse of perfume? Do they not smell it on themselves? Do their loved ones not tell them to stop bathing in it? Do they think it makes them smell good?

My husband and I were at Costco this morning, with the rest of Atlanta. We only needed two things. Why we picked the Saturday before Thanksgiving to go, I don't know. But there we were among the masses. Anyway, I digress. Back to my story.

We got in a line (they were all long) behind a family who I think was buying one of each thing in the store. They were fine. But... but... then I smelled it. The sickening smell of sweet, cloying perfume. I looked around for the culprit and there she was, the woman behind us. WOW was it strong. I looked at my husband and whispered "oh no... perfume". So the line is taking forever. I guess we could have bailed, but we were next up after the family in front of us. I wanted my bottled water and A-1 Sauce-LOL.

I moved from behind our cart to the front of the cart to try to escape. My eyes started to burn. I moved up a little further. I was just about attached to the guy ahead of us like a barnacle trying to distance myself. Finally it was our turn. We paid quickly and got the heck out of there.

That was at 10:15 this morning. It was so bad that I could actually taste the perfume on my lips (anyone ever have that happen?) and I got a headache, which I still have.

Now, I freely admit that I'm extremely fragrance sensitive. Can't handle most candles, lotions, etc. Can only use three fragrances from Bath and Body Works and with those, shower gels only.

But seriously, can they not smell it? I'm surprised her husband wasn't wearing a mask.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?
