Even though hardly any water in our ponds my alligator found some...and turkeys are really out in full swing tonight!

Yes, that pond is low but rainy season is starting, albeit later than usual. You do know alligator mating season is April- July, right? They're on the prowl and especially aggressive now, be careful, also any pets should be keep away from ponds and canals.

yes I know -- by now we should be having bouts of rain so far .003" since 4/21...ugh.
and yes, I don't go anywhere near any areas especially my backyard ..I've had more than my share of 🐊🐢🦃this past month😲and I don't have any pets.
My neighbor told me she was walking the dog and there was a coyote by the side of my house ...yikes...I'm always on "patrol"...
thanks again😊

@homedecor1 I'm just glad you didn't think I was preaching to you. So many people are moving to Florida now and it can take a long time to learn about the flora and fauna here. Some newbies to Florida think it's fun to feed them but they loose their fear of people and that's a BIG problem.
Are people in your community (especially those w/ pets) afraid to have that gator in the pond?

No I knew you were "concerned" not preaching😉
I was shocked how much wildlife is here & I am seeing more everyday as they continue to clear these animals habitats for more homes & strip malls🤬🤬
We are aware especially those walking their dogs. We have signs posted everywhere now if only there was a solution to those horrible palmetto aka cockroaches...they scare me ...🤬

@homedecor1 Ok, I'm glad you knew I was only concerned.
I've lived here since 1985 and those super size palmetto bugs still creep me out. I was shocked and disgusted when the house we bought 6 years ago was literally infested with them when we moved in. It was so bad I refused to unpack and put away the kitchen and bathroom boxes until the problem was resolved.
The BEST thing I've found is Harris Roach treatment. Maybe you've already heard of it. It's boric acid, enticing but deadly to roaches, it comes in powder or tablets. The tablets are more convenient. Place a few under your appliances, in lower cabinets, along baseboards, behind toilets and you'll soon find the palmettos dead with their feet facing the ceiling (that's what husbands are for, Lol). Pretty soon you'll hardly ever see one, if you do it'll be dead, they'll just stay away from your house.
They're about $5 in WM or Publix. HTH
FWIW, Florida Fish and Wildlife has a program where they do an assessment and will remove gators from neighborhood ponds and place them back into the wild. The number is 866-FWC-GATOR.

Yikes!!😨

@homedecor1 Can I ask you what county you are in? I've been here since 1960 and never seen a turkey. 🦃
Now we have the occasional alligator in our backyard canal from time to time, however. 🐊
