I'm always sad when summer comes to an end. I love the other seasons too, but there's nothing like summer.

I know EXACTLY how you feel Mick. Friday night was the first time I used a blanket in months and I loved that but now it's back to using only a sheet over me at night.

Re: Today is the Last Day of Summer!!

I used my electric blanket last night with the window slightly open (no heat on in the house though).

The cat so enjoyed the heat I have the blanket on for him now.

He's almost 18 and seeks warm spots.

LOVE autumn!!!.....the beautiful leaves, the changing air, the pleasant days, the crisp cool nights, the days are shorter and we get closer to standard time, the holidays are approaching, but still far enough away. Kiss

it is around 68 today. blue skies with fluffy white clouds, and a beautiful breeze!

When I was growing up, the 21st of every third month was the beginning of the new season. somewhere along the line, someone changed the date.

it isnt just a day that is picked, it is actually an event...... it isnt fall yet officially because that will happen at 10:29pm et tonight.

The 2014 Autumn Equinox, or September Equinox, takes place at 10:29 p.m. EDT on Sept. 22, 2014.For people in the Northern Hemisphere, the Autumnal Equinox, or the first official day of fall or autumn, begins when the Sun crosses the celestial equator. On this day, both day and night are nearly of equal length. This typically occurs on Sept. 22, Sept. 23 or Sept. 24. The date varies slightly due to irregularities in the calendar as well as the Earth’s irregular orbit.
