Why is  it closed?  Their reuben was wonderful.

I called Carnegie in May and June to ask to have a 2 lb. piece of pastrami shipped to us like I've done before and the recording said it was closed for repairs. No mention of when they expected to reopen.

GOOD MORNING LOVESCHOCOLATE AND  LINDAMJ----------Carnegie Deli was closed some weeks ago after they were caught stealing natural gas ( approximately 1/2 of what they were using). I would highly reccomend ZABAR'S in the city and ZINGERMAN'S outside of the city. They both do nationwide shipping and their products are excellent..........Don't forget your rye bread !

Danky,  thank you so much for the recommendations. I have written them down and will check into them. We haven't had kosher pastrami in Several months. My husband used to frequently go to NJ on business and he would stop at The Kosher Nosh in Glen Rock, NJ and bring back a few pounds. But the last time it was so darned fatty, plus it cost quite a bit more than Carnegie's. Oh yes, the rye bread, also potato salad and cheese cake.
