Saw this today ............. brushing your teeth in a public restroom. I understand wanting to brush your teeth before a dental appointment you're going to directly from work. However, not only do I not like washing my hands in the sink after somebody has repeatedly spit in it, but the thought of brushing your teeth at a sink hundreds have used throughout the day just grosses me out!!

I don't know... I don't think it's so strange or disgusting. You have no idea what people may be doing in a public restroom!!

It's not like you would put your toothbrush in the sink.

It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.

Where I work, we have a sink in the breakroom. Would you prefer that people brush their teeth there?

People using the restroom sink to brush their teeth, to me is more preferable.

In public restrooms, I never touch the sink. I turn the water off (if it's manual) using a paper towel-covered hand. If there are no paper towels I use my sleeve or shirt tail (same with exiting the door). I don't see a problem with brushing teeth in a public restroom as long as you don't touch any surfaces.

Its better than the person sitting by me on a 3 hr flight last weekend flossing her teeth most of the flight.

Personally, I guess that I don't worry about these kinds of things too much, as I figure the hot soap and water would be washing things down the drain, so if I had to, I would brush my teeth at the sink and not think anything more about it. Smile

if you want disgusting....I worked with a woman who would floss her teeth at the luncheon table....while people were eating...stuff was being flicked all over the place....

no, I never sat at the same table as her...I couldn't even look at her when she did that...I mostly tried to get a different lunch time ....

I'm not a germaphobe, but I try to touch as little as possible in a public restroom. I wouldn't want to brush my teeth there, but you never know why someone else might be doing so -- to each her/his own, I guess.

I used to work in a regional office which was set up as a maze of cubicles in a large room while our offices were being remodeled. One of the guys who worked with us decided to bring an enormous bottle of mouthwash to his cubicle and proceeded to gargle with it.{#emotions_dlg.scared} Now, that was "just ick!"
