There's the cost of whatever they pay that IT crew to keep swapping our names, making reviews invisible, and changing time zones in the program guide.

Then of course there are the costs of staffing the mods positions.

I'm sure there are legal fees associated with this, and the cost of ongoing security associated with customer info/passwords.

OTOH, a high percentage of my purchases were influenced by comments from fellow posters.

I have things in my house I just love, and I never would've bought them but for posts here.

A feature being complained about may be just the feature that makes it right for me.☺

Like in Holiday Topic in the Forums someone will post a reminder on the Forum thread about an upcoming show with a favorite vendor like Jim Shore or Valerie Parr Hill helped me remember to tune in....Even though I requested notification on the Program Guide Page, never got a reminder nor email but the Forum posting by another member did the trick, I tuned in and I did make purchases from the show.

Also other customers familiar with my preferences posted photos of other products that I might be interested in....and purchases were indeed made!  And if only the Facebook Page was available I would have missed the opportunity since Im not overly fond of Facebook, and do have privacy concerns I probably wouldnt have signed in to Facebook to see upcoming products, but I sign into the Forums very frequently and like to watch the live presentations on the products!

Interesting info, thanks for posting

Facebook members are increasing in Pacific countries, but declining in the U.S. ( 2 million people dropped out in the last 2 years even with the pandemic going on) In the U.S. people are moving to other platforms like You Tube, Tik Tok, and Instagram......

FB isn't a young person's platform of choice anymore.  I agree with those who pointed that out.  Guess QVC is behind the curve again.

I guess they are targeting the over 50 crowd then?  The young people (very young) are into tik tok.

You posted worldwide data and that didnt include what the survey I posted said abut declines in Facebook viewing in the U.S. ( 2 million people droppedout in the last 2 years even with the pandemic going on and people were more isolated and social media allowed interaction with others, but they still dropped Facebook.  Now Facebook is growing their audience in the Pacific Asian countries, but more people in the U.S. are moving to other platforms like You Tube and Instagram......

I posted several data sets from different companies.  I included a link to my sources.  So what do you want me to do?:  I didn't create the studies.  What source is your data from?  Yes, one site posted worldwide use of Facebook by age group.  The other two data sets I posted do not.  Did you see the one from the Pew Research Group, I posted?  You mention Pew but unlike you, I posted a link to the information.

Factor when the polls were done also.  Some of this data is not scientific.  There is a younger presence on Facebook.  However, as newer platforms arrive and Gen X and Gen Y come on board with even newer platforms for interaction they leave FB in favor of those.

The metrics I saw broke it down to income range as well.  There are likely a good percentage of people on FB with higher incomes that they want them to part with their money.  That income range might be in all age groups (except gen Y and Z)

No problem thanks for posting all the information....I did post the source of the article and author for reference.... I cant post the link because that page includes other articles some of which are political and also advertisement for other retailers both of which is not allowed on these Forums and the link would have been deleted...so I copied and pasted the article itself...

only some of the info I posted was worldwide data.  Most of what I posted was not worldwide.

One thing I think no one at QVC is considering ......  all the posters on these boards are on the QVC Website .... and access to their offerings are only a click or two away.

If all the posters (customers) are shoved off the message boards, they will be visiting the QVC site a LOT less ... some, maybe not at all.

How is this a good business decision?

For years now, I use this website for the forums, but use the more nimble app to shop, watch live broadcast or video, and attend to my account.

So basically, I won't be alone in having no reason to come to this website after Nov 2nd, UNLESS they leave the forums searchable and readable.

...Which brings this thread back on topic.
