This place is filled with tips and tricks, so I'm asking here. ![]()
I have two summer shoes, beige canvas type flats and a pair of white Bobs with a mesh fabric on top. They're getting little dirt spots here and there. Short of putting them in the washing machine (which I don't want to do) how can I get these spots out?
Thanks!

Oxy clean spray cleaner has worked for me

Years ago (30 at least), I had a roll-on type shoe shampoo that I got for my canvas espadrilles. As I recall, it worked pretty well. I'm sorry I don't remember the brand name nor where I purchased it but I probably got it at a shoe store in the mall or a box store.
I'm sure there is something out there like that now.

Try peroxide to spot clean and then afterwards use Scotchgard to help keep them from getting dirty again. For the soles use a Magic Eraser.

Try Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It usually works on smooth surfaces but it's worth a try on your shoes. OxiClean or peroxide paste.use the teeniest dab in a dirty spot to see. Tiny drop of dawn and bit of water on a cloth. Dab on dirty area. You can rub it a bit. Let sit a few minutes then use a clean, wet, not soaked cloth to dab off the detergent. You can rub that a bit if the material looks like it's holding up to that. Pretest in a hidden area. A toothbrush isn't a bad idea for scrubbing the canvas. I've used a bar of ivory soap (I break it in half) that I've wet and rubbed on spots and then used a dampish wet washcloth to rub off too.

If they're real delicate, if you have purity made simple, use a dab of that with a little water and and an old toothbrush.

I second the recommendation for Mr. Clean Magic eraser.
Or you could try shout it out-leave on awhile then scrub off but that might make that area more white than the rest.
Or baking soda, vinegar and dish liquid paste.

Buy "pleather"shoes that you can scrub with soap and water.

I agree with the Magic Erasers. All of my years working in the dental field we wore white shoes, even when colored scrubs came out, it was always white shoes. We used the magic erasers on them for years to keep them very clean at all times. It worked well.
I cringe today with the look of the footwear some offices allow.
