This is the second year that our super has been working in my building. Several months ago I asked him to tell me where I should put several large delivery boxes until garbage day. Instead of just answering me he went into a tirade, flailing his arms and shouting at me in the lobby of the apartment house. I tried keeping my cool and finally said to him that if he couldn't help me, he could at least be a gentleman. With that he grabbed the boxes and proceeded to get into the elevator (I followed) and put the boxes in a special storage area on the 1st floor. I told him I was unaware of that practice and that the previous super would take the boxes from my apartment. He has also become curt with other tenants and will do nothing to help except where it concerns specific apartment management issues. In the past he has done things for me and I have compensated him very fairly, including an added tip at Xmas. Now when there are larger apt. issues I contact management directly. I have also spoken with the building manager.

My question is whether to tip the super this Xmas season. In my heart, I do not want to, but if I do, it would be sizeably less?

Any thoughts? Thanks.
