We are going to a destination wedding at the end of May. The hotel where we are staying is a luxury hotel. I have no idea how much to tip the bellhop, etc. For those of you who travel a lot, what is expected? I looked up some online guides but they didn't really seem very current. Also, how much should you tip the guy who delivers food via grub hub, etc?

Do they still have bellhops?? Haven't seen any in years even in upscale hotels.  We do leave a tip for the person who cleans our room, $5/day is our usual.  Know nothing about food delivery people.

First, it depends on where you're going. Australia, for example, sees tips as an insult. Anyway, for bellhops, I've always heard 1 or 2 dollars per bag.

Hope you have a great time!

Maybe bellhop is not the right word now..l am referring to the people who meet you when you drive up, open your car door for you, take your luggage and take it to the desk. Another one takes it to your room.

Some luxury hotels "may" add the gratuity to your bill

Not sure a grub hub delivery person would be welcome in the lobby.  Might want to check.  Julia wasn't 💃

I wasn't talking about Grubhub and other food delivery services coming to the hotel! 😱Just wondered what tip is customary when you order food from home.

I've been in hotels where there is a doorman or bellhop and tipped $5 for bringing my suitcases up.
I tip between 15%-20% for Grubhub through their app. Since COVID they leave it at the door to avoid face to face contact here so I don't tip in person. If you leave the tip blank in your order you might have a hard time finding someone who takes your order as quickly too.

I've ordered takeout when staying at hotels and have never had a problem. They can deliver to lobby and an employee can deliver it or meet there.

It's bellman, not bell hop and it's customary to tip $5 for each bag they carry for you.  You tip the housekeepers at the end of your stay,  $5 for every night you stayed.  Some hotels include the gratuity for room service but it they don't, the tip is like any restaurant 15 to 20% is added to the bill which you pay at checkout.  If you use the concierge for theatre tickets or dinner reservations or advice on places to see, you tip him or her $10.  You tip servers in the hotel restaurant and bartender, the way you would normally tip.  Tipping for Grubhub or Uber eats is through the app when you order, they dont accept cash.  I tip 15% when I use those apps.  If you use the hotel shuttle, tip the driver $2.00.

Hotels, even luxury hotels, are big business for meal delivery services.  Everyone uses them.  The driver will call you on your cell phone when he arrives and you either meet him in the lobby or he'll deliver to your room.  We do whatever works for the driver.
