I have it also.  It is a high pitched constant sound.  It runs in my family.  I don't know how long i have had it.  Annoying and it has effected my hearing.  My uncle has had it for a long time too.  Most of the time my brain is busy and it pays no attention to it.

For years I took a powerful Rx NSAID, Diclofenac, twice a day. My new rheumatologist immediately took me off of it and changed up my meds.

 

I still have the tinnitus but knock on wood, it's become much more bearable.
