I have to laugh to myself at the visualization of all the people who sell things, shop for things, or have to scurry around like crazy for the holidays. I can just picture them just flopping down in a huge overstuffed chair in a heap once 1/1/16 gets here. I'm sure there'll be some sound of a large sigh that reverberates through the air on that day. Unless of course, they can't lift their heads off their pillows. LOL
I wonder who gets to celebrate New Years Eve, where the huge ball drops in NY. That would be fun to do.
We'll have to see how everyone recovers that has to go through all that.

I know my eyes will be shut when that ball drops. I'll check it out on the news the next morning. ![]()

I don't make myself crazy over the Holidays anymore....I just want to sit back and enjoy them with the granddaughter. I guess that comes with age...![]()

I admit to in my younger days really getting very anxious about the whole holiday thing, but as I've aged I have relaxed somewhat about it.
I think for one thing, I used to wait to the last minute and then I would feel very rushed and run around because I couldn't find the things I wanted to buy.
But now, I shop much earlier and when I see something I think might work, I pick it up and squirrel it away.
I think some people get a rush out of waiting until the last minute and then having that adrenaline kick in. Not me!!!
The older I get, the more I like to have things under control and work things out at a slow, leisurely pace!!!
As for New Year's Eve, what's that? Just another evening for me to fall asleep on the couch while the t.v. watches me!!! LOL. I haven't seen the ball drop since about 1995!!!

Went to NYC many years ago for NewYrsEve. As the crowd started gathering, I felt claustrophobic and had to get back to the hotel. Never again.
On a much smaller scale, we were at a local mall and noticed several large white unmarked trucks with klieg type lights in the parking lot.
After strolling through the mall, we noticed a stage in the center: setting up for VP Gerald Ford's appearance. Again, crowd gathering, I had to exit.
About the last minute adrenalin of holiday prep: my gifts are bagged and tagged Labor Day Weekend. Yes, I have a few gifts put aside for Christmas 2016...get it when you see it if it is a good deal.
