Hate the time changes. Drove to work in total darkness this morning. Shame that those who want more daylight in the evenings fail to see that they are taking it from the morning. Sunrise is a wonderful time of day. Guess people all have their own agendas.

I am with Florida DST all year. The patents might have to take an active roll in helping out the school children.

DST was implemented in the United States nationally on Mar. 31, 1918 as a wartime effort to save an hour's worth of fuel (gas or oil) each day to light lamps and coal to heat homes. Today, people in favor of keeping Daylight Saving Time say it allows drivers to commute more safely in daylight, promotes outdoor activities, and stimulates the economy. Those who oppose Daylight Saving Time say that the change is a harmful disruption to health and work productivity, and is expensive.
All facts aside, I found this quote funny -- Americans think they can cut two inches off the bottom of a blanket, sew that two inches on the top of same blanket, and create a longer blanket. (Isn't this DST in a nutshell?) I say -- leave nature alone.

I do wish they'd choose one time (standard or daylight savings) and stick to it. It takes days for my mind and body to adapt.
Plus - I have to reprogram my TV remote control each time the time changes in addition to changing all the clocks and watches!

I had the news on this morning, and they said there is a 17% uptick in traffic accidents the Monday after the time change.

@PodyPowrote:I read a funny question today: why can’t they schedule the time change lost hour for a Monday during work hours?
Uh huh........I hope the person realizes the reverse is gonna happen in October...........................
You’re right! I didn’t think that far ahead!
It's arbitrary anyway. I say, if we have to keep switching back and forth (WHY), we should spring forward on Monday afternoons and fall back on Sunday nights! Or Friday or Saturday nights, that would be fine too ![]()

I'm retired so I don't care what time it is, unless I have an appointment. There was no way I was getting up at 9am when it was 8am the day before.

I HATE dealing with the time change. Can someone please tell me how to explain to my cats that the time has changed and it is now one hour earlier or later???

I remember my dog would be so funny during Daylight Savings. His internal clock would be so off and he'd get so confused when dinner was. I do have a love hate thing with the time change though. All day yesterday and today I was sooooo tired. In work especially! I'm still tired so I don't know why I'm still up. LOL! However, in the Fall I actually love when it gets dark earlier. I guess because the early darkness signifies the whole "look and feel" of Fall with the cooler temps and cozy feel to the evenings. It also signifies a throwback to childhood and you knew Halloween was right around the corner.
