I don't understand either. Where on earth would one get a tiger? Is there a black market of exotic animals?

I can't imagine the food bill on a tiger.

Not only the food bill, but the cost to build a proper environment for an animal of that kind would cost thousands. Then there's the vet bills and general upkeep of keeping the animal and it's habitat clean. You just can't take tiger to your local groomer or vet.

  I would lock myself in the house & keep all windows & doors locked shut until it's found.

  I hope they locate it before someone gets hurt.

You are absolutely right, @SilleeMee. It would all be so expensive.

It is totally legal in several states to own tigers as pets. They are surprisingly cheap and easy to buy. Just awful, imo.

It is illegal to own tigers in Tennessee.  I can't imagine where this tiger came from, but it's very scary that it's loose.

@NickNack

I wonder if it travelled to Knoxville from a state where it's legal to own one?  N.Carolina and Alabama both border Tenn. Makes me wonder.
