Not sure whose name was vice versa but my question is your concern privacy or disregard?  What it comes down to is lack of professionalism and the Q doesnt have it.

it wouldnt bother me if they used my real name, but i will agree that if they are going to be doing that, then they need to make it very clear so those who dont want their names used can opt out.

i am on their facebook pages and other social media pages and leave reviews and comments with my real name.

@Venezia.  I checked a couple I wrote yesterday, including an answer to a question.  They were okay.

@Kachina624 - That makes it worse, IMO.  Whatever the Q decides to do, it should at least be consistent.

Honestly, lately I don't think the right hand knows what the left is doing at QVC.

Just this week I got notification from Norton that my information has been detected on the dark web.  (Thanks to the AT&T data breach!  One more big company that says our data is uber secure and encrypted.  Yeah, right.)

It's hard enough to protect our information without having something like this happening on a website we've been using for (in my case, literally) decades.  It doesn't seem very secure to me, having spent 25 years in I.T.  At the very least, QVC should offer the option, not just attach a customer's real name to something public without warning.

I won't write another review or answer another question until they can absolutely guarantee privacy.  And somehow I don't think they can anymore.

@Venezia. I got that same message and chalked it up to be part of a scam.  Especially when the said your subscription expired yesterday and I knew i never had one.  I use a tablet where there's supp9sed to be little chance of hacking

I agree the QVC seems to be increasingly a disorganized mess.

@Kachina624 - I only wish, in my case, it had been a scam.  I went directly into my Norton account and found the information there.  (We only ended up connected with AT&T when they took over DirecTV.)

And it hasn't got anything to do with what device you use.  The hackers breached AT&T's servers.  There was quite a bit in the news about it.

I won't say what I wish for all these scumbag hackers.

Both.  A disregard for privacy and arbitrarily making a change without notice.

I did.  Then I decided to put it here as well.  I thought it would probably get poofed but it's still here.....so far.

@Melzie - I can't believe this thread because just last night I was about to start one about the same thing!

I responded to an email asking for a review a couple of weeks ago and was stunned to see it submitted with my real name, instead of my nic, which they always used to use.

I thought maybe it was just if I respond to an email now, so yesterday I tried to write a review about a product.

Same thing!  At the bottom it said "Will be submitted as XXXXXX (my name)".

It didn't give any option to choose a different name or use my nic.  Well, no way, so they'll never get another review from me.  Their loss - it was a 5-star review!

ETA:  I think notifying the Social Team is a good idea, so that we can at least find out, if this is a new intentional change.

@Beth-QVC @Melvin-QVC @Susan-QVC @AnjalenaQVC or any other moderator:

Is this now how our reviews will be shown online?  With our real names?

I did send my displeasure and comments to QVC.  I then went back and looked at the original email from QVC based on your comments and there was no statement that said "Will be submitted as XXXXXX (my name)".  There was no option like that on the email I got.  All it had at the bottom was my email address and it asked for my town, which I did not provide.

Also, while I'm here, someone mentioned that when you comment on FB your real name is used.  That's different.  If someone has a FB account you know your real name is being used and you select who you want to "friend" or "follow."  It is your choice.  The choice is not being made for you.

I am so angry right now and I've just about had it with QVC! Occasionally, I'll post a review of an item and it always showed the nickname I use here.

Today I got an email asking me if I could answer a question about something I reviewed, I answered it, then got an email that my reply was now live.  BUT they used my real name on-line vs my nickname when responding to the question AND changed my nickname on the original review to my real name!

I am beyond unhappy that they changed things and used my real name.  Maybe this isn't an issue for some people but it is for me and I'm just about DONE!   😡

@Melzie @Venezia   I have sent this issue to our team that handles the reviews, once we hear back we will follow up.

My apologies for any concerns related to this issue,

I know better than to leave my credit card out there on QVC.

Wonder if we should all get new accounts under a fake name?

Like we would never use our real name as an email name or Facebook name?
