Thyroid Nodules

I have had some Thyroid Nodules for several years now. I had an ultrasound & biopsy last July and another ultrasound last month which showed they have got a little bigger since July. I told my Endocrinologist I would like to have them taken out before they turn into cancer and he said we could do that. He has now scheduled me for a CT scan of the neck and a Barrium Swallow. When I scheduled the appointment at the hospital for these tests, they told me I would also see a Speech Therapist after the tests. I am just getting nervous about this whole thing. Don't know why I would be seeing a Speech Therapist. Just wondering if anyone of you have or ever had Thyroid Nodules and what your treatment is or was. I will be so appreciative of any replys.
