What we endure in this life is nothing compared to the glory that God
has in store for us in heaven. Lord, take every moment of my life as a
prayer to praise and glorify Your holy name.
Scripture for the day:
"You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of
joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore." ~Psalm 16:11
Meditation for the day:
There are two paths, one up and one down. We have been given free
will to choose either path. We are captains of our souls to this
extent only. We can choose the good or the bad. Once we have chosen
the wrong path, we go down and down, eventually to death. But if we
choose the right path, we can go up and up, until we come to the
resurrection day. On the wrong path, we have no power for good
because we do not choose to ask for it. But on the right path, we are
on the side of good and we have all the power of God's spirit behind
us.
Prayer for the day:
I pray that I may be in the stream of goodness. I pray that I may be
on the right side, on the side of all good in the universe.
Hello my friends! Today was a good day - Linus had off, he called Father
David, our good friend from way back, I think we know him 30 years now - met
him on a retreat, anyway tomorrow he has an appointment to see him for
selling Lighthouse Catholic Media, the Cd's and books for the stand he sold
our priest. I'm going along to see him. We will meet in a restaurant at
12:30. Lori went hunting with Steve this morning - and didn't see any, but
it was a first experience for her to do this. She is still scared to meet
his teenaged kids, please say a prayer for them all, that the first meeting
will go well. Also would you pray for Linus' success in this new business
adventure? Praying for all of you for your needs, and thanks for your
prayers for us. Always much appreciated.

'DON'T TELL GOD HOW BIG YOUR STORM IS, TELL YOUR STORM HOW BIG OUR GOD
IS'
It Takes Courage To Be A Christian!
It takes courage to refrain from gossip when others delight in it, to stand
up for the absent person who is being abused.
It takes courage to live honestly within your means, and not dishonestly on
the means of others.
It takes courage to be a REAL man, a TRUE woman, to hold fast to your ideals
when it causes you to be looked upon as strange and peculiar.
It takes courage to be talked about, and remain silent, when a word would
justify you in the eyes of others, but which you dare not speak because it
would injure another.
It takes courage to refuse to do something that is wrong although everyone
else may be doing it with attitudes as carefree as a summer song.
It takes courage to live according to your own convictions, to deny yourself
what you cannot afford to love your neighbor as yourself, to follow the
example of our risen Lord!

"Portrait of a Friend"
I can't give solutions to all of life's problems, doubts,
or fears. But I can listen to you, and together we will
search for answers.
I can't change your past with all it's heartache and pain,
nor the future with its untold stories.
But I can be there now when you need me to care.
I can't keep your feet from stumbling.
I can only offer my hand that you may grasp it and not fall.
Your joys, triumphs, successes, and happiness are not mine;
Yet I can share in your laughter.
Your decisions in life are not mine to make, nor to judge;
I can only support you, encourage you,
and help you when you ask.
I can't prevent you from falling away from friendship,
from your values, from me.
I can only pray for you, talk to you and wait for you.
I can't give you boundaries which I have determined for you,
But I can give you the room to change, room to grow,
room to be yourself.
I can't keep your heart from breaking and hurting,
But I can cry with you and help you pick up the pieces
and put them back in place.
I can't tell you who you are.
I can only love you and be your friend.

I asked God why I wasn't rich.
And He showed me a man with the wealth of a thousand
kings, who was lonely, and had no one to share it
with.
I asked God why I wasn't beautiful.
And He showed me a woman more beautiful than any
other, who was ugly because of her vanity.
I asked God why he'd allowed me to become old.
And He showed me a boy of 16, who lay dead at the
scene of a car accident.
I asked God why I didn't have a bigger house.
And He showed me a family of six, who'd just gotten
evicted from their tiny shack, and were forced to live
on the street.
I asked God why I had to work.
And He showed me a man who couldn't find a decent job,
because he'd never learned to read.
I asked God why I wasn't more popular.
And He showed me a socialite with a thousand friends,
who all left the moment the money and parties were no
longer there.
I asked God why I wasn't smarter.
And He showed me a natural born genius, who was
serving life in prison for making ill use of his
knowledge.
I asked God why He put up with a thankless sinner like
me. And He showed me His Bible, and His Son who took
my place at the judgment. And I knew then how much He
loved me.
What's eating you today? Are your problems weighing
heavy on your heart? Know, then, that you are loved.
And have a WONDERFUL day!
Remember, a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.
To Die Like an Angel
One evening we went out and rescued four people off the streets. One of them
was in a desperate condition. I told the sisters, "You take care of the
others. I will care or this one who is worse off." I did everything for
her that my love could do. I put her into bed, and I saw a beautiful smile
light up her face. She squeezed my hand and only managed to say two words,
"Thank you." And then she closed her eyes.
I couldn't help but ask myself there beside her body, "What would I have
said if I had been in her place?" My answer was very simple. I would have
said that I was hungry, that I was dying, that I was cold. Or I would have
said that this or that part of my body hurt or something like that. But she
gave me much more. She gave me her grateful love. And she died with a
smile on her face.
Prayer of Spouses for Each Other
Lord Jesus, grant that I and my spouse may have a true and understanding
love for each other. Grant that we may both be filled with faith and trust.
Give us the grace to live with each other in peace and harmony. May we
always bear with one another' s weaknesses and grow from each other´s
strengths. Help us to forgive one another' s failings and grant us
patience,
kindness, cheerfulness and the spirit of placing the well-being of one
another ahead of self.
May the love that brought us together grow and mature with each passing
year. Bring us both ever closer to You through our love for each other.
Let our love grow to perfection. Amen.
