Why not....for the next couple weeks, use the drive thru? I really don't see what the issue is. There's a greater than zero chance this grandmother has used the KFC drive thru....I just don't understand what the need to make this 'big' thing. The girl wouldn't know the difference between a walk in & drive thru..she just wants her chicken. The adult was wanting to make a stand...just like those guys walking into Target with their guns. "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should".

How would you possibly know the adult was wanting to make a stand? They could very possibly have used only the drive thru in the past but since the little girl was more than likely cooped up at the hospital and at home because of her injuries, maybe she just wanted to get out? I know when I have been in the hospital for a good amount of time I want to get out and about. I get sick of being stuck at home and in the hospital.

Making a stand just like the guys at Targets with their guns? How you even get to that comparison I will never know. At least use ONE comparison that makes ONE bit of sense. I mean comparing a wet t-shirt to a physical injury that you cannot hide? Do you also suggests soldiers coming home from the war with facial injuries just stay at home as to not upset other peoples delicate sensibilities? Just because they can go out and enjoy a meal doesn't mean they should because they have a facial deformity? That is complete nonsense and that you could even really even think this way is very odd. I have read some odd stuff on here too but this takes the cake.

Irshgrl, I couldn't have said it better. (btw: I can't help but wonder why we often have so many threads roundly criticizing and marginalizing parents and their children -- referencing the Jet Blue threads, recently.)

You couldn't pay me millions to own a company now-a-days..........always worrying what an employee might do and/or say. to customers..........too much stress.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Okay.....I think I was probably the first one to disagree with sidsmom here...but I think she's been flogged enough at this point. Time to let it go.

But not everyone has flogged her and some haven't had their 2nd and 3rd helpings.

Because there are many posters here who don't have children. You can spot them a mile away. They are the ones who always start the negative threads. They are anti children. {#emotions_dlg.sad}

Since this type of incident happens a lot lately don't you just wonder??

NO!

It's the 21st century, news gets to us much faster than the old days.

It's very disheartening if this is true... but why do so many people want to make a few bucks off of incidents like this? The one accountable is the person that asked her to leave not the entire KFC Corporation. And why does the general public need to know??

Who is making a few bucks off of this? Corporations usually do take responsibility for what their employees do, and I can't even imagine what this child's medical bills are going to total when she has further surgeries, etc. And the general public knows because the story went viral from Facebook --the general public should know about things like this. You'd think it would make people THINK about how they act, what they do, and how it affects others.

So you are saying KFC should pay for all of her medical bills. Please explain to me why you think they should? And yes I do agree with you that it will make people think about how they act. But not necessarily in a good way. Believe me I do not under any circumstances think that sweet little girl should have been asked to leave but I do think the wrong person/people are getting penalized. She could eat at my table any time.

Nowhere did I say I thought KFC should pay for all her medical bills-don't put words in my mouth. I don't think this grandmother is making this up for monetary gain, as some posters have suggested, but the jury is still out on that. KFC generously offered to help with the child's medical bills. When I said corporations usually take responsibility for what their employees do, I didn't mean monetary payments for anything and I didn't say that. If an employee scr*ews up issuing an insurance policy, who do you think would wind up taking responsibility for that, the employee or the company? If an employee puts the wrong tires on your car and something happens, who takes responsibility? That's all I meant.

The KFC employee(s) who told them to leave should have been fired immediately. The little girl is precious...no way her appearance could have disturbed anyone. The grandfather was arrested and I hope he goes to jail and stays there.

We don't know exactly what happened, but it's hard to believe customers were "disrupted" by a customer's looks. How does this happen? What were the customers doing and saying?

I would think most people would have compassion and feel sorry for her.

Seems like there might be more to this story.

ITA. . .I wonder what KFC discovered during their investigation.

Re: Three-year old girl asked to leave KFC Restaurant....

From looking at the source of the publicity, imo the family hasn’t done anything wrong here, but anyone can look for themselves (you don’t need a Facebook account to go to these links and read).

====================

They created a simple Facebook page* on 4/23/14 for those who wanted to get updates and join in prayer: "Victoria's Victories -- About: Medical updates for 3 year old dog attack victim Victoria Wilcher."

On 6/12/14, they posted her photo** with this comment: Victoria's Victories: “Does this face look scary to you? Last week at KFC in Jackson MS this precious face was asked to leave because her face scared the other diners. I personally will never step foot in another KFC again and will be personally writing the CEO.”

====================

It appears the post went viral, and the page went from about 250 likes to 113,948 likes. The public took up the cause. KFC heard about it, their official KFC Facebook page posted in the comments on the photo, and they're actively investigating the incident.

Re: Three-year old girl asked to leave KFC Restaurant....

Thank goodness...I was afraid they wouldn't let her use the restroom and she peed on a seat. Then we'd be off and running on another 15 page thread.

Many times fast food restaurants have very young employees that do and say squirrelly things because of an abundance of poor judgement. These are the people who think they are worth and should earn $15/hr. Then the corporate office must swoop in and clean up the mess.
