I think there are several reasons posters do this. For the most part I have done capital letters because I have a habit of capitalizing anything I consider a title.  I also don't mind bold print and agree it is easier to see....especially if you have cataracts in both eyes....which I do.  When I first started here, I didn't know for the longest time that capitalizing was shouting.  It was my first experience at forums. I probably offended a few people unknowingly.  Personally, I don't think most of the people here do it to be rude.  It's just the way they roll.  We aren't cookie cutter.  How boring would that be?!!

On the contrary, you said that it was Look At Me , and that it seemed rude, perhaps outrage was too strong, but you were definitely bothered by it enough to start this thread. Enjoy your cleaning.

I appreciate your response, but I wouldn't define boring (or not) to be related to using all caps or not.

Ideas are interesting.  Typeface isn't.

I think most of us are astute enough to know when another poster is being rude and when they aren't. No need, for me anyway, to guess at interpretations based on font, size, color or capitalization they might choose to use.

It does seem rude.  Doesn't mean I'm "bothered" by it.  Curiosity (and lack of interest in housecleaning ) led me to post about it.

I'm a curious person.  Seems sort of pointless to be that around here sometimes, though.

Cleaning's done for today.  Time to shower and get ready for dinner.
