The Ottawa Sun identified the guard, who was taken to Civic Hospital, as a member of Hamilton's Argylls of Canada – 91st Canadian Highlanders who were on tour guarding the memorial.

From what was reported, one gunman is expired (did himself in), I think they also said the soldier is passed on as well. Looking for a possible second shooter. Also, they don't believe it is an act of terrorism. But as of yet, it's still very early in the investigations and the scenario.

The violence is not confined to Parliament. Police say that there could be multiple shooters and that there are three shooting incidents in the capital.
