I had a very thoughtful thing happen to me today. It made me rethink some things that have been bothering me in the past several months. Wherever I go, I have to carry a portable oxygen container on my shoulder and my purse on the other. Most doors are extremely heavy to open and are not always automatic. I was trying to open one to get to my hair appt and was having a hard time. All of a sudden two young girls, maybe 17 or 18 said, we can help you and they opened both doors and made sure I got through without a problem. I thanked them and told them how very much I appreciated the help and I was very impressed with their manners. They smiled and wished me a Merry Christmas. It was the best thing that happened to me all day. There are still parents and young people that do and know how to treat elders with respect. I had almost decided it no longer existed. I still am thinking how lovely their smiles were. Just thought I would share a very nice experience.
