I agree, we do not have our checking account linked to ANYTHING on line, nor do we pay our bills online from our checking account.

DH is an IT Specialist for the Federal Government, working IT on some top secret military installations and he has never allowed it.

@KingstonsMom @What type of account is best to pay your bills online from?

@Mindy D

A CC, it can easily be disputed and funds replaced, if they empty your checking account, it's a whole new nightmare to refute the charges and get your money back.

We have one designated CC for online purchases/payments and pay the balance each month.

You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

@kittykatkay, it showed up as a pending charge to my debit card this morning. I've already contacted my bank to dispute it.

@tucsongal, how did you remove your card? I tried to remove one that they have on file for me that expired TEN years ago, I wasn't able to do it.

Do know how they got your debit card?  Your bank can cancel it and give you a new one.  In the mean time you can lock it.

Check to see if your credit card account number is still the same.  That might need changing too.

I didn't post to be berated, this was posted as a warning. The whole issue is that I did NOT set up or authorize auto refill. My card info is on their site from when I purchased air time from them before. The card in question expires 07/2021, I won't be updating the info on it. I have an expired charge card on my account, I can't remove it even though it's expired.

Don't be so sure they won't be able to put a charge or debit through on an expired card.

@sgraham30 I had one recurring charge on my card and even though I did not go in and update the information once the card expired, they were able to keep charging.

@Still Raining, yes, I've bought airtime for my phone on the Tracfone website before. After this, I'll be removing the card so this doesn't happen again.

@CelticCrafter, even with the expired expiration date?

Should we all hold hands and go screaming down the street?  They don't make it easy 😖

@KingstonsMom @I'd be running up such a huge credit card bill. I'd worry about it, even though I could pay it off. My bank uses Zelle. The bank sends a check or directly makes deposits into the payees accounts. I hope this is safe. With my phone and cable from AT&T, I pay at AT&T directly from my bank or I pay at my bank using Zelle. I hope that is safe. Thanks for your help.
