This year it should be exceptionally interesting.

Our son said he and his girlfriend would let us know, by the end of this year, whether or not they're going to get married. In some ways it seems pretty obvious to me they will, but there are a few things that make me think it's possible that either they won't get married at all, postpone it, and/or still cohabit. They're pretty much stuck where they are because they're leasing a townhouse for a VERY high rent--I doubt either one of them could pay it unassisted.

SO--My son told me today that her parents are inviting us to have Thanksgiving dinner with them and their family, and of course I'm thinking they're going to break the "news" to us at that time.

I'm supposed to have lunch with my son tomorrow and I want to remind him that he needs to have a back-up plan: what if he asks and she says no? What if SHE wants to get married but he doesn't? Anything and everything can happen unexpectedly.

BTW, he forwarded to me a photo of him in his Halloween "costume". About 15 years ago the Mariners had a notoriously bad closing picture, Bobby Ayala. (I'm telling you the God's honest truth when I say that when the fans saw him called out of the bullpen, there was a collective groan.)

So my son't been growing his hair and growing a little goatee and went to a party dressed as Bobby Ayala. OMG, he even LOOKS like him! That's my clever boy! {#emotions_dlg.wub}
