What the sign is saying is to be accountable for what your kids are doing in the store. Pay attention to them--many people don't, and just let their kids loose.

I don't think the mom knew until the little girl ran up to her. I asked if she was okay and the mom just stared at me. I told the little girl I was sorry but she was terrified.

The mom was trying to check out and was oblivious to what her children were doing. Been there done that but it does illustrate how fast something can go wrong.
