@goldensrbest  I'm very sorry that happened to you. I hope Spirit will be all right. It's very upsetting when pets get sick and need help. Prayers for Spirit.Heart

In Middle TN, we can't go inside the vet's either. We have to call from the parking area and wait for them to come out.

I can imagine it would be very annoying if you ran out of Trackfone minutes in the parking area and had no way to contact the people inside the vet office. Or if there were a technical glitch and you couldn't call out. In that case I can easily imagine banging on the door and shouting to get my pet needed attention, like @Drythe said.

When I call tracphone they ask are you with tracphone or straight talk so I think they are kin could be why you heard straight talk.
Tracphone has been aggravating me for months earlier this yr.Telling me O was out of minutes when I wasn't and you couldn't get someone that you could understand.
I ended up changing to US Cellular.Ok i guess just some things are sure alot different in their ph.world.
Just hope Spirit gets better soon.I understand how upsetting that can be considering what your circumstances were.Take care .

@goldensrbest How frustrating, in an already stressful and scary situation. I hope you and Spirit are all good now.

I have never had any problems with making any calls on my Tracfone, except that you can't make calls outside of the US.

It's not the same, but in the last 6 weeks we've had several visits to the emergency vet for our kitties, too. EVERY time, my husband will call on his cell phone from the parking lot to let them know he and kitty are waiting. Then they call our home phone (where I am, 40 miles away) to let them in/provide updates. I don't know why they can't figure out to call him right outside their building...and it's especially upsetting in an emergency situation.

@goldensrbest   Imagine being hearing disabled and not being able to hear on the phone! My land line is captioned. I can read what the person is saying.

My I phone on speaker with my hearing aid is sometimes clear enough, but I can't hear it ring. So I speak, tell them who I am and am waiting but can't hear.
Due to this when my 16 year old Jack Russell was dying (He collapsed and couldn't walk). I called the vet from home and said it's an emergency. The clerk said they had no appointments. I explained that he needed to be seen and they said to call when I arrived.
Five minutes later I called when I was there, no answer. I knocked on the door and girl came. We waited 29 minutes because one vet was in surgery, then they took him in.
I waited in the hot car an hour. The vet came out and recommended euthanasia. I asked for my regular vet to give a second opinion. I waited 30 minutes.
My vet said he could do bloodwork. Another 30 minutes in the car. The bloodwork showed many high readings, possible cancer, etc, back problems, etc. He said he couldn't survive. I could be with Krypto inside.
I waited in the car another 3O minutes. Finally went inside the darkened room, petted him, and told him what a good dog he was as he passed.

I left promptly, since he was being cremated.

A few days later I picked his ashes up, and had to call when I arrived........

It's hard for both the owner and the vet at such stressful times. The pandemic keeps us away from our loved ones and pets who are being treated without us.
Something like having a phone that can't be used makes it more difficult in dealing with the situation. I understand!

I'm so glad your pup got care and hope all is better now.
I hope you got a new phone!

Oh, @1Snickers, I'm so sorry about your poor pup. Glad you could be there when he went to sleep <3

I have a hearing aid (just one needed currently), that has Bluetooth technology. I can hear my cell phone ringing and hear the people on the call talking right into my ear. It's also rechargeable, so I charge it overnight and never need to fuss with batteries. Just something to think about in the future.
