I did a kitchen for a young couple.......she wanted something very contemporary, and that's what I designed for her.......it is beautiful and functional even if I'm not all that crazy about contemporary....it went from a very closed kitchen to a very open kitchen.......anyway.........she wanted white cabinets which I did, but I thought a silestone c-top in a grey to resemble concrete was the way to go which she also loved.......where we disagreed was she wanted subway glass tiles for the backspash...........I didn't like that idea much, but we're waiting on cabinets so I figured I had time to find what I thought would be perfect.........and I did in one of our other stores.......so I bought a piece and brought it to our store and told her I wanted her to come look at it..........when she got there I told her to take it home and place it on the wall and take a sample of the c-top too................WELL lol, I got a call from her yesterday telling me I was a genius LOL, she LOVED the backsplash I had selected more then glass.............I had selected a geometic stone pattern in white and gray, it's perfect for her kitchen and anchors the cabinets to the c-top.......in a New York loft, there always seems to be a masonry wall or two, this stone backsplash will give that feel, and the ruff texture of the stone will play against the smooth shiny silestone c-top........I LOVE it when a customer is this excited about my design for them, it made my day................raven
