A co-worker and I were in receiving and saw some really awesome flowering plants......now these plants were being dumped.........a practice we're used to, but all the same one that just chaps my hide.........I got this flash of an idea and went running to the manager........what I wanted to do was.........rather then just dump this stuff, could we get some xmas foil, wrap the pots add a pretty bow and take them to some of the rest homes here in town for the elderly............manger told me they weren't ours they belonged to Color Spot and if they said yes then yeah lets do it............alrighty then, I knew their rep was in the building............went to her...........was told NO....................why......................because they were afraid that someone would return them to the store for the money...............now I told the gal, well hold up...........you all wouldn't be out the money, this store would be and the store is fine with it, even at taking the risk that some old codger might saddle up the walker and toddle on down to get his $2.95 for a plant he was given............they said they would not go along with it unless I could present to them some proof that no one would return them............now that's just not possible...........so.................started a collection in the store among my co-workers and we'll just buy the darn plants..........but it just makes me so MAD that rather then take good items that have use and give them to people who can use them......................they just throw it in the dump.........................raven
