This is turning into a GREAT day!

A few minutes ago my son called to say goodbye as he's getting ready to board his flight to Europe! I could tell how excited he was just by the tone of his voice, and I'm SO happy for him! He worked for a long time and saved up for this trip, and I'm so happy for him that he's able to do this while he's still young and can really enjoy himself. He's traveling with a buddy he's traveled with before and they're going to have a WONDERFUL time.

He knows I like earrings as souvenirs and promised to pick me up a pair at every port of call.

I went to Costco today and picked up flowers for my yard--some bright pansies for a dark spot next to my front door, and a Lenten Rose for a corner of my yard that tends to get crabgrass, weeds, etc. that creep under the fence from my neighbors. I'm going to add a few more (Lenten Roses) to help fill in that spot and crowd weeds out, and they're SO pretty. The one Lenton Rose I already have has bloomed all year; it never did die back for the winter.
