Last night in preparation for the cold front that was forecasted to hit overnight, I gathered my warmest clothing so that all I had to do was slip it on to walk the dog.

Everything was in order and when I went to the closet to gather my winter boots, they were not there.  I have my shoes organized according to seasons and they were not in with the winter shoes.  A week ago they were.  I have two pair of rain boots which I store next to each other and use the least liked to navigate mud, puddles, and rain.  The pair I was looking for is left for running errands and cold, clear weather.  They're Bare Traps and so warm and comfy.

I live alone and would like to think I'm organized so I know where everything is.  No one other than I go in my closet.  I looked and looked for them for about 45 minutes.  Finally, I started at one end of the closet and took everything down and out - examining every bag, box, storage bag; however, why would I store them where they aren't in clear view for convenience sake?  Plus they WERE there a few days ago!

Spent hours looking for them.  Never found them.  I can understand a small article of clothing being misplaced or covered up with something else, but boots?  The imprint was still there where I had placed them in the shoe bag.

Do you drink, seriously? Even being tired or taking medication can cause folks to put things in strange places.

@wildlifewitch

I do not drink alone at home - or for that matter hardly ever.  Last adult beverage was a week ago at a party and one in June at my friend's b/d party.  Not on meds, either.

Know how you feel!

I was replacing hardware pulls, counted out the new ones, placed them in order making sure I had all fasteners & screws. I left it for the weekend, just the guest bedroom. When I started the project I couldn't find 3 pulls! I counted, emptied the trash, checked the shipping box! Nothing!

Wound up ordering replacements.  UGH!!!!!!

Try not to worry, they will turn up, unless you accidently threw them away
