I'd be suicidal within 24 hours!  Not for me.

This area is considered rural, too. Not all rural areas out West are dry and desolate.

@On It.  I'd say so.  How about this?  Right down the hill from my house in Corrales, NM.  Th3 birds are Sandhill Cranes.

Re: This is Rural!

Colorado has a lot of open spaces. But something like 75% of it is owned by the government...US Forrest, State/City Parks, BLM, wildlife refuges.

ETA-

It's sort of misleading but if you flattened all of the mountains and hills in Colorado, it would make it bigger than Texas in square miles.

Beautiful! Would like to visit it but wouldn't choose to live there.

I love the outdoors but prefer woods with lots of trees. If I had my way I'd buy back our former cabin in the woods that was within walking distance of a small lake in PA.

Agreed!  I need some green & trees.  I like a semi rural area that is not far from people and communities.

I like it but it looks like a place where you'd find snakes, and I wouldn't like that.

That is the kind of place where some recluse serial killer might live and have the bodies buried out in that desert somewhere nearby to visit when things get lonely.

@Sugipine. @On It.  That picture looks like the area outside of Roswell.  Lots of antelope there and it's sheep country.
