Here in the Pacific NW we are expecting 106 degrees this weekend with a high of 110 Sunday!! That is absolutely unheard of here. We barely even hit 100 during the summer. Last summer was perfect with highs in the upper 80's mostly with only a few days in the 90's and that's how hot it got. I know some of you get heat like this in the summer all the time but that is defiinitely NOT the norm around here. Glad we have central air.

@LuvmyLab Please stay safe in this upcoming really warm weather. I'm in Bellingham so we have a little less temp but still very warm ... I guess another one of those adventures, lol.

@colleena You are a few hours north of us but you will get heat also. I just hope this extreme heat doesn't head your way! Stay cool! I doubt I'll be leaving my house at all this weekend.

@LuvmyLab I remember being a young kid here & the clouded sun (is that the right wording) & so darn warm & so darn sunburning. I still think we in Bellingham get a little bit less than you do down south.
We've made sure the air conditioners are working well & anything really important like going to the gym is early am before it's too warm.
Take care,

Relatives of mine in the state of Washington, near the Canadian border, were complaining about how hot it was for them, 70-80 degrees. I thought that was nice weather until they wrote today to say it was 90 degrees and NO ONE up in that area puts air conditioning in their homes. Asked if they would now, and they said no, that it doesn't happen enough to spend that much money. They are used to 55-65 degrees.
They are only 10 minutes from the Pacific Ocean, so they drive over there to relax during the day, and then go back to the house later in the day.

@World Traveler Oh definitely agree with your relatives ... I'm 20-30 minutes from BC depending on traffic & Bellingham Bay has a nice breeze as does Blaine/Semiahmoo but we also have this clouded/sun - I think PNW has a higher rate of sunburn than most of the country & I am paying for it now after my many years younger w/o sunscreen. But I may complain sometimes but am blessed to be born/raised here as we really do live in a beauttiful part of the country.

Daughter in Seattle is going to melt! She hates heat

@mspatmac Recommend anything she needs to do she does early in the day. Otherwise find air conditioning at libraries, museums, Starbucks & others, find shade & keep hydrated ... we really don't get alot of this heat so it's honestly a nice treat when we do ... we'll be back to normal not too long.

Welcome to our world--for a lot of us. You will be glad when it's over but stay cool!
