I wonder if her Dr just didn't take it seriously enough, or she just let it drag on too long, before seeking help?
I went to the ER twice ,for breathing treatments ,with my last bout @SilleeMee

According to the article it said flu like symptoms and possible pneumonia. Until they do an autopsy, I guess it really is not certain what she actually died from
RIP Kim.

Yes, exactly @cherry. What can happen, however, is a viral infection can weaken the immune system so then a person can become ill from a bacterial infection that may have not occurred had the person not gotten a virus to begin with. It's called a 'secondary infection'. You see that with AIDS patients.
It happened to me @SilleeMee. I had the flu shot last year. When I was admitted to the hospital 3 weeks later for heart issues, the man in the bed next to me had the flu. I caught it and developed a secondary infection. I was put on antibiotics for ten days. Having Type 1 diabetes for nearly 50 years has left me vulnerable to infections. I am sure, though, getting the flu shot saved my life.

Her name was Kim Porter, not "P. Diddy's Ex." I hope someday we can allow women to be named instead of identified by their relationships to men. I'm sure that's not what she would want on her tombstone.

One time I got very sick from a 'superbug' called Klebsiella pneumoniae. I couldn't go to work for almost two months during which I was on heavy doses of several antibiotics. many of them were not working. I was sick in bed and I really thought I was going to die...seriously, die. I was admitted to the hospital and there I was treated with more drugs and IV solutions. I was in the hospital for about three weeks. My doctors said the drugs didn't really save me. It was most likely from all the bed rest and forced food I was given. I wouldn't have eaten otherwise. I believe it was more than that

I didn't recognize her name ,and that is why I posted it, they way I did. When I realized who she was , I thought others might not know either, so I did it to jog their memory ,and not to start a fight

@SilleeMee...I know of which you speak. I have had frequent UTI's from Klebsiella and was referred to an infectious disease specialist. It took numerous rounds of antibiotics to get rid of it and I am now taking prophylactic antibiotics to keep it at bay. Apparently, it is very difficult to arrest the germ.
You must have had that kind of pneumonia? (Respiratory). It must have been awful.

Yes, it was the worst sickness I ever got. I was coughing up blood and there was blood coming out of my ears, too! I hope I never get it that again. @Trinity11
