@occasionalrain wrote:I have read every post on this thread, most are judgemental, some demeaning, even labeling. How is that respectful of fellow posters?
There are posters I enjoy and posters I dislike. There are threads that annoy me, ones that entertain me, and ones that enlighten me.
I can't see any reason to judge fellow posters as cranky, unloved, or miserable. To do so is unjust.
When I see someone who posts nothing but mean and ugly I think they must be miserable people (miserable meaning very unhappy). It's an opinion based on observation, not a "judgment".

Yes!

Not hearing what you want to hear =/= harsh just as not getting your way =/= bad customer service.
If posters only want to hear that the are right and get sympathetic responses from everyone, perhaps posting in Among Friends would be a better choice.

Some people should apply for board monitor jobs.
LOL! They don't need to apply.....they are self appointed and take their job seriously....WAY too seriously. I want the "ignore user button" back please.

Just like in RL, lots of people have control issues.
It's interesting to watch unfold.
Sometimes.

You can disagree without being rude.
@nun ya This is so true; delivery is the key. I never take seriously someone who starts by saying to me or another poster "you are wrong." An opinion is neither wrong or right; it is simply your view.
An example of wrong or right would be if I said 2 plus 2 equals 5. You say that is incorrect (wrong). Two plus two equals four. That is factual.
But if you are expressing a different opinion about something subjective, saying "you are wrong"is rude.

Some people feel they need to be right no matter what. They don't realize how condescending and rude they really are. Best to ignore them...

Yes!
And there are posters who will persist in being offended no matter how they are disagreed with. It's true on a forum as it is in life - there are those who live to be offended.

I wish we had the "ignore" feature again.
