I'd have to agree. I would not say it was horrible, rather a disappointing. She was so good on SNL as a cast member but not strong enough to carry an entire show.
I loved Maya on SNL and in movies but I thought this show was horrible. I could barely get through the opening number.
After the first skit I was out.

The show was one that just kept getting better and better. A lot of little jokes you had to really pay attention to get.
I thought it was hilarious. The ""clams"" and ""peanuts"" seller was classic SNL.
I can't believe we all watched the same show. Several times I literally laughed so hard the girls said ""what's so funny."" Maya can do so much with just teeny tiny expressions on her face.
The ""Garmyn"" family was soooo funny. Maya and Fred Armiston were a mom and dad who do the voices for the gps systems. They directed the dd's boyfriend to the bathroom. It was classic.

I like her a lot but was not a fan of this show.

I love Maya, & everyone on the cast, but I lasted about 30 minutes. There was WAY too much singing for my taste. I didn't care that it was out of tune...that didn't bother me. But they didn't have to make 90% of the show musical. Not even Carol Burnett did that. I don't like anything where the people are constantly singing!

Never heard of her. Is she an actress, or what?

She's an actress, & she was on SNL for years. She's VERY talented & FUNNY.

I think the show is worth tweaking, & I bet they will. They need MORE comedy sketches, & WAY less musical numbers. That intro to the show seemed to go on for years.
Make it more of an early SNL, with one musical number (if they HAVE to at all!)
