Why would she have to pay taxes? It's her money. They earned it together while they were married. And I think it's a lot of stock which I doubt was sold in this process so no capital gains. So it's not like she's making donations to cover the taxes. If she decides to cash in the stocks to donate and has to pay gains it might cover some of the taxes then but so what?
