For everyone who posted about overpriced printer ink, there
is a way to avoid paying for those expensive cartridges.
For years I paid over $30 for colored and black ink until my
old printer broke. I was so disappointed but in the long run
it was a blessing in disguise.
With my new printer I am in a FREE ink program where I get
15 sheets per month. If I go over 15, I pay only a dollar more
for 10 sheets. It is a great offer and when I need ink HP sends
the ink. Very happy with this program and no running to the
store for ink.
One less BIG expense! Worth it to just invest in a new printer
and I paid like $75 for the printer a year ago.

I also have HP Instant Ink! I LOVE it!! So convenient that they know when you're ink is running low and automatically mail some to you! I only pay 5 dollars a month for 100 sheets or something like that.

Coffee tables! I moved last year and during the course of refurbishing a larger home, the funniest thing I discovered while purchasing a variety of new pieces of furniture and other furnishing is how expensive coffee tables can be. Sure, you can buy a cheap, basic one for under $100, but ones that have any quality of style cost upwards of $600. I could buy a large HD TV for the same price as some of the coffee tables I looked at.

Funny cuz when I moved into this house new 2 years ago I got 3 glass and iron end tables and no coffee table (one at both ends of the sofa and one at the end of a love seat. Not bc it was expensive as much as I often would be in a hurry and trip over ones in the past!

I have to take issue with your "made up illnesses they say ur pet has-to rip you off". You were not dealing with a private vet, you were dealing with an organization that wants to turn a profit.
Did you know that there is a higher percentage of suicide among vets than other medical professions? Unhappy human clients complaining about the cost to treat their pets, pets that die, pets that have to be put to sleep. It takes a toll. The article I read was extremely depressing with regards to this issue. Most vets do not get rich. Many are just getting by after everyone else in the practice gets paid.
Unnecessary testing? The vet is dealing with a patient who can not communicate with them, not in words anyway. Some may be in pain but stoic (like mine) and the source of the pain is unknown. The vet has to rely on the pet owner's description of the symptoms in addition to the physical exam. When I described my dog's symptoms it sounded very close to a bowel obstruction. Blood work, full set of x-rays, a day spent there on an IV and it turned out that the dog has a very expensive set of glands under his tail. They were badly impacted. But how was the vet to know that? I'm grateful that the blood tests showed his liver values were good and that he could start the NSAID for the arthritis in his knees that showed up on the x-rays. It wasn't there two years ago when I voluntarily had x-rays taken to check his hips.
Specialists are going to cost more because they are just that: specialists. A cardiologist has more training just like a human cardiologist. All of them do. They can't just put out their shingles stating they're specialists if they don't have the education to back it up.

Everything.
That said, the cost of a house (condo, townhouse, single family) is that angers me. SO not worth what people are being expected to pay.

Razors! As in Gillette and Schick. A 15 pack was somewhere around $40. Forty dollars! ??? I had a 40% off coupon to use (CVS) and luckily I didn't pay full price.
