That's scary, I'm glad that your grandson is ok. My next step would be to set up a meeting with the school administration to see what steps they're going to take to make sure that nothing like this ever happens again. IF this were to ever happen again, the next child might not be so lucky.

It's been nearly twenty-four hours since I created this post, and my nerves have had time to settle down. I'm still sending up quick prayers of thanks, though, whenever I think about it.

Anyway, I'm here now to thank each of you for your empathy. It's too easy to see only the ugly side of Internet forums, and this one can certainly be one of 'em. But not this time. Anyone that has ever been a referee in an adult hockey game, or drives race cars? Unfortunately many, including myself, underestimate the speed at which can and do happen. Many times it is a painful way to learn.
