I had a same-day delivery from Target last week bc I needed milk, only a few grocery items, toothbrush heads, & Dove deodorant. The shopper texted me that if I get 4 Dove deodorants instead of 2, I get a $5 gift card.  I did, & I gave the card to her.

In the upstairs bathroom, I already had 2 unscented Dove deodorants unopened. Downstairs, I had 2 scented ones; 1 was open & low. I now have a total of 8 deodorant bars.

It's like when the grocer had a sale last month on toilet paper: buy 2 and get a discount. I wanted two packs of 12 for the discount. They ran out of 12's, so I ended up with two packs of 30.

Upstairs, I already had two 12 packs.

Downstairs, I had one open 12 pack.

I now have 90 quadruple rolls of toilet paper. LOL

I won't even go into the paper towels, although they're not as bad.

I put some of the paper goods under the beds bc the cupboards are full. LOL

I am the only person in my house.

I have enough deodorant and toilet paper for at least 6 months. LOL

Have you ever been overwhelmed by your household supplies?

No.  I actually know what I have at all times and they aren't kept in different places around the house.

All toilet paper is together. All deodorant, etc. is together.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@Desert Lily   You sound like me, I have at least 8 deodorants, and enough shampoo/conditioner to last a lifetime, and I live alone.  I hate running out of anything, so I tend to stock up when it's a good deal, on sale, etc.

However, when there was a toilet paper shortage, I was stocked and was able to provide some to my family members.  My son said I'm a hoarder (I'm not), and was glad that he could come shopping at my house!  My mom was complaining of hair loss, and after finding out she was using Treseme, I told her to throw it out and I would give her some of mine.  Problem solved~

I had a huge hoard of toilet paper I got at the beginning of the pandemic.  I finally ran out this week in the house and was about to make a special trip to get some.  I first rummaged around in the garage and found a box with 20 rolls.  Gas to the store saved!

@Desert Lily  The good news is you will always need those products.

@Desert Lily

I was... and then we had a house fire.

No longer overwhelmed.

It doesn't overwhelm me, but I suppose I could go for a year or even more before I buy some items.  My closet probably has 30 or more bars of dove soap. I must have close to 100 rolls of toilet paper and maybe 50 rolls of paper towels.

I have food stored in bulk too.  I have always lived this way.  I very seldom run out of anything except for fresh fruit and veggies.

During the pandemic when items were impossible to find, ( flour, cleaning supplies, Lysol) I shared with my family and neighbors.  A complete stranger saw the hoard of paper towels in our garage as he walked by and asked my DH if he could buy a roll.  My DH gave him two rolls free of charge.

I have room to properly store the items and they do get used.  There really only the two of us...and three adult children who occasionally "shop" in my closets and cupboards if they need something and have no time to go to the store.

YES!  I usually over buy because I'm afraid of running out of something... heaven forbid!  LOL  What's the worst thing that could happen... REALLY!  Yet I keep doing it!  Frustrating!

@Desert Lily  Lol!  So funny.  As others have said at least they are all items that you need and use often. And if there is another pandemic or another supply chain issue - you will feel like a genius!  And be one.
