Oh my, I saved my son's baby teeth too, he's 30. I wanted to have a charm bracelet made out of them, but could never find any one to do it. I also saved some hair from our beloved German Shepard after she died.

My MIL gave me a locket that belonged to her grandmother and placed a lock of my husband's hair from his 1st haircut in it. That was my something old when we got married. I found 2 lockets in an antique store and put their hair in them and I plan to do the same thing when my sons get married.

I have some things of my grandmother's like her handkerchiefs and some of her hand sewed items and her rosary. And I have all the greeting cards my mother received from the time she was married, to the congratulations cards when she had us, and some pictures when she was a young girl. I have big serving spoons she acquired when she worked for the Navy Department. I used to have my father's military dress uniform but passed it onto my cousin.
When my MIL passed the only thing I requested was their old wooden cross, which I proudly display in my home. I hope to acquire my Grandmother's cross, am going to ask my Uncle if he can mark it for me.
I have no children to pass these things to. My only nephew barely remembers my mother as he was 3 when she passed, and Dad passed when he was 5.

I have a huge pot and cover (oversized) that was my mom's. It takes up a lot of cabinet space, but I just can't part with it. However, I never use it. My mom was the type who would tell me to let it go--I just can't yet. I've kept a lot of things that take up space, but they're sentimental. I have plenty of crocheted afghans that my mom made that are hardly ever used and I can't display that many.
Both my brother and I have some of our father's old tools. Such a part of him.
