The amount of people who sue when someone dies amazes me. I am not saying they do not deserve it but for me I do not think I would enjoy having or spending that money knowing why I had it.

I have idea who is not suing Disney, or for what.

This family had their son killed by an alligator earlier this summer in Disney World, John.

Thank you very much. In this litigious society we now live in, I find it hard to keep up. I do remember the story, but I was thinking about the one where they had to shoot a bear.

I don't know if Disney settled or not, but just think a few signs might have prevented the tragedy.

There were signs, but not correctly worded ones notifying people of alligators present and therefore -- No Swimming!

Signs should have stated no wading.

I'm happy to hear that this family is appearing to try to pursue a healthy acceptance of their loss. Not many people would be ready to do that this early in the grieving process.
I don't know enough about what signage, where it was placed, what it stated, etc. but I do know from having family in Florida, that in certain areas people just always need to assume the alligators are possibly present.
With Disney attracting unsuspecting people (and those people assuming that an entity as big as Disney would have ALL bases covered) from all over the world, I guess they needed to work harder at making people realize that gators are just a part of the wildlife in many places in Florida, and there is danger, even in the 'happiest place on earth'.

I know people personally who were forced to sue by insurance company not covering an incident. Sometimes medical insurance refuses to pay if it is anothers fault, or they can palm the incident off on someone else. Homeowners is notorious for not paying on certain things, or they pay so little the injured are forced to seek money other ways.
